As discussed, the foundation wall for the crawl space does not look good cosmetically but has sufficient structural integrity.I completed a walk through of the residence on II/15/01 and inspected the foundations,floor structure and roof framing systems_ Theconcrete foundation wall was reinforced with #4 bars at 24 to 30" on center vertically which continued from the top of the foofing through the cold joint and into the second pour for the top of the wall. The band between the two pours at the cold joint is adequate to maintain stability of the wall. We will be reviewing the floor and roof structure and will provide a revised cross section of the residence, ',vhich will accurately depict the structure as built, and the changes that will be completed to correct and complete the work. Queensbury, NY 12804-5902 518.761.820I August 6,2001 z� �7 Rick&Darlene I a1 onde 20 Lynn Avenue Queensbury,NY 12804 Dear Rick and Darlene: A visit to your property revealed that the foundation was not poured properly and the forms were not braced properly, allowing blow outs to occur in the foundation wall, therefore causing severe deviations in the foundation wall. As I explained to your contractor when I met him on site, that the walls had to be square on the footing and poured properly, so that this Department could approve the backfill, otherwise you would be requested to contact an engineer to provide a repair to the foundation or to state that the foundation is adequate as it has been poured. This Department will not approve the backfill of this foundation until such time as we have a letter from an engineer approving the foundation as is, or a letter from an engineer recommending the repairs on the foundation based on the blow outs that occurred during the pour of the foundation.
