Dear Mr. Brown:
The Chazen Companies (Chazen) has received the submission package from your office for Maynard
Bakers Community Funeral Home, located at 462 Corinth Road. The Applicant intends to remove an
existing single family home and replace it with a funeral home. Submitted information includes the
following:
Site plan drawing set consisting of four (4) sheets entitled, Proposed Funeral Home, prepared by
Kevin L. Hastings., dated June 14, 2012;
Survey map of lands of Paul W. and Dorothy A. Baird, prepared by Charles T. Nacy., dated April 9,
2012;
Stormwater Management System Engineering Report, prepared by Kevin L. Hastings., dated June
15, 2012, and;
And Amendment to the Stormwater Management System Engineering Report, prepared by Kev
L. Hastings., dated June 27, 2012, and;
Your office has requested that we limit our review to the design of stormwater m
and sediment control items as it relates to compliance to local,
Based on our review of the information provided, Chazen offers the following comments for the Towns
consideration:
Stormwater Management & Erosion and Sediment Control:
1.The proposed site improvements disturb less than 1-acre of land as part of a site redevelopment
and will not be subject to NYSDEC Phase II Stormwater Regulations. Section 179-6-080 of the
Town Code, states that the stormwater drainage plan shall analyze the impacts of a project using

at least a 50-year return interval for commercial projects. The applicant has supplied the required
stormwater runoff analysis for review.
2.The Site Plan Application indicates a total area of land disturb
changes resulting in a disturbance greater than 1 acre would req
SWPPP in accordance with SPDES General Permit GP-0-10-001. It is recommended that the

5.The Applicant proposes to use infiltration trenches around the perimeter of the proposed
structure. Section 6.3.1 of the NYSDEC Stormwater Management Design Manual (SMDM), states
that infiltration practices shall be setback 25 feet downgradient from structures and septic
systems. Further, Section 147-11.I.2(c) of the Town Code states that infiltration devices should be
located down gradient from and separated from subsurface wastewafields by a
minimum of 20-feet. The Applicant shall revise the plan for conformance with these
requirements or shall consider alternate methods of stormwater management for the proposed
building.
Conclusions and Recommendations
It is our opinion that the applicant should provide clarificatio
changes in subsequent plan submissions.
