Waldta Motel, Town of Queensbury.
The fieldwork portion of arehc ologioal study for the proposed wadta Hbtel occurred on May
6, 2004. Tho weather wss seasonably warm with bright, clear �. Approxirastely 75 percent was
f cdod and the remaining 25 percent contained the existing motel, parking areas. ►Wowed areas. and
a 5wWwain8 pool.
The excavation of sixt)F-four shovel tests was originally proposed for the four -acre parcel
However, due to slope, 44 tests were excavated across the area. No historic or precor"ot cultural
materials ware recovered from the tests and no features were idontified. No further arebeologieal
wvrk is recommended.
A draft report of the Phase IA and phase iB Archeological Study hits been produced and
submitted to both Artie Tompkins and yourself It is estimated that the final report can beproduoed
within one work. Once the rgwn is submitted to OPRje. they then have 30 days to review it. It
is my impression that no fuuther archeological work will be recommended.
