Dear Ms. Moore:
In response to your request for additional information regarding stormwater management for the
referenced application, we offer the following:
The Babcock residence contains stormwater infiltration devices which have been previously installed
and are effective. The entire house roof is presently guttered and piped to two stormwater drywells,
located near the northeast and southeast corners of the house. These drywells manage all rooftop
runoff from the house without issue, and the small building addition will be guttered and piped
directly to the southerly drywell.
The existing driveway and half of the garage roof drain to a precast concrete drywell located to the
north of the existing garage. This structure also manages considerable runoff generated from the
Town Road. As the site plan proposes reducing the impermeable driveway area by over 400 SF
and increasing the garage area by 220 SF, garage roof runoff will be managed in this device.
Additionally, the applicants have proposed a 5' wide x 34' long perennial buffer planting bed which
runs across much of the width of the property and will provide additional collection and treatment of
stormwater runoff.
Considering the proposal will result in a net increase in site permeability, I trust the above summary
adequately addresses your concerns.
As always, please contact me if you wish to discuss.
Best regards,
J VW
