Scherfnerhorn Properties, Inc. - North Country Day Care Dear Mr. Round: We have reviewed the resubmission package for the above referenced project. The package consisted of a comment response letter dated May 14, 2001, revised plan sheets S-1, 5-2 and S-4 (latest revision date May 14, 2001), a revised printout for detention pond # 2 and two plan sheet (TS1 and TS2) showing the design of the temporary sewage disposal systems. We have reviewed the above mentioned documents and feel that the comments outlined in our April 27th letter have been adequately addressed. Regarding the plans detailing the temporary wastewater disposal system and offer the following comments: 1. The septic tank, wet well and overflow tank should be shown on the Layout and Utility Plan (S-1)_ The overflow holding tank appears to be located in a paved area. Consideration should be given to relocating these structures to minimize disturbance during abandonment. 2. The forcemain routing across Lot # 4 should be coordinated with the proposed layout for Lot # 4. Specifically, the forcemain should be routed around the buried stormwater infiltration area. 3. Based on the contours shown, the shallow trench system should be rotated 90 degrees so that the laterals are parallel with them- 4. Assuming the worst case scenario that the Baybridge pump station is not constructed, the plan should show a potential expansion area, as required per NYSDOH regulations. 5. The test pit data for TP#2 shows miscellaneous fill in the critical zone, i.e. in the zone 2 feet below the proposed trench bottom. The percolation test result was obtained from an area outside of the system footprint where "sandy fill" was observed. Additional information about the soil at TP # 2 is warranted to classify the "miscellaneous fill" and to determine the percolation rate of this soil.. Otherwise the system should be relocated to where the suitable soils were found_ Architecture a Building Systems Engineering • Civil Englneedng • Environmental Services • Survey & Land Informaflon services UD/21/Ul 14;46 ra 010 IOD 1 VVV C.T.
