The following violations must be corrected, and a re-inspection must be conducted prior to your business opening to the public. 1) I observed that the exit leading from the pool area to the outside was blocked by snow. Section 1162.2 of the Uniform Code requires that all exits be maintained to provide free and unobstructed egress from all parts of the building or structure. 2) I observed that the Exit light in the pool area was not lit. Section 1162.3 of the Uniform Code requires that Exit and directional signs shall be maintained in a clean and legible condition, unobstructed by decorations, furnishings or equipment: and shall be illuminated in conformity with section 5-10.3 of reference standard RS 54-1 (Code for Safety to Life from Fire in Buildings and Structures) at all times when the building is occupied. 3) I observed that the circuit breaker box was blocked, was left open, and had circuit breakers removed. Section 1163.11 of the Uniform Code requires that electrical wiring and equipment shall be maintained in conformity with reference standard RS 51-1 (National Electrical Safety Code) and RS 51-2 (National Electric Code) so as not to be a fire hazard nor a source of ignition for combustibles or hazardous substances, materials, or devices. Section 1163.11 of the Uniform Code states that flexible chords shall not be used in place of fixed wiring in buildings, shall not be run through holes in walls, ceilings or floors; or run through doorways, windows or similar openings; or attached to building surfaces; or concealed behind walls or above ceilings, or under floors or floor coverings. 5) I observed that the filters for the exhaust hood over the kitchen stove were not clean. Section 1163.12 of the Uniform Code states that Hoods, grease removal devices, fans, ducts, and other devices shall be maintained clean and free of grease and deposits of residues. 6) I observed that the kitchen fire suppression system had not been maintained in the past 6 months. Sections 1163.12 and 1163.13 of the Uniform Code states that automatic fire suppression systems for commercial cooking equipment be maintained in proper operating condition in conformity with reference standard RS 58-4 (Standard for Dry Chemical Extinguishing Systems). 7) I observed that a fire extinguisher, appropriate for the hazard was not hung in the kitchen area. Section 1163.13 states that portable fire extinguishers shall be required in accordance with the hazard. 8) I observed that the fire extinguisher in the bar had not been inspected in the past year. Section 1163.13 states that the installation and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers be in conformity with reference standard RS 73 (Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers) 9) I observed that the Carbon Dioxide Cylinders in the back room were not protected from tipping. Section 1175.1 of the Uniform code states that compressed gas cylinders in storage or in service shall be secured to prevent tipping. • Mr. Kevin Jenks Page 3 of 3 10) I observed that there was an excess of bagged refuse and boxed refuse in the kitchen and the back room. Section 1191.3 of the Uniform Code states that combustible waste and refuse shall be properly stored or disposed of to prevent unsafe accumulations. Section 1162.2 of the Uniform code states that aisles leading to an exit shall not be obstructed. 11) I observed foam insulation board and finished paneling installed to cover the windows. Because these materials were not originally installed, and are considered interior alterations, they must comply with Sections 793.1 and 772 of the Uniform code.An interior finish of Class A with a flame spread rating of 0-25, or Class B with a flame spread rating of 26-75 must be used in assembly spaces. Foam insulation board and paneling is generally considered as non-compliant. 12) I observed paper faced insulation resting on the chimney of your furnace. In time, the chimney could ignite the paper on the insulation. Section 1163.8 of the Uniform Code states that heating equipment for buildings and structures shall be maintained so as to be safe to persons and property. 13) Please note that the previous business had a permissible occupancy of 42 persons (staff and customers), this occupancy limit must be maintained. If the occupancy of the building is allowed to exceed 50 persons, other violations of the Uniform code will follow.
