2000-477 (2) Vt Engineering Evaluation for Residential Building Plans Submitted JUL 0 2000 By' Joan Bovee Lake Sunnyside Queensbury, N Y Q Pages} 1 . This is a single story residence with an attached 2-car garage, 2. first floor joists 9 'fa" T311 16" Q. C. are adequate for supporting a total dead and live load of 50 PSF. 3 . Roof support Alt, 91 is by pre-engineered trusses 24" Q.C . with pitch of 10" in 12 The truss manufacturer shall be responsible for the design and construction of all trusses to support a live load of 15 PSF normal to the roof surface plus all dead loads of roofing, lumber, insulation and ceiling finish. The contractor shall be responsible for the installation and bracing of all trusses per instructions from the truss manufacturer. 4 , Roof support Alt. 92 is by 2"xltl" rafters, 16" Q.C. with ceiling joists 2"x8", t6" Q.C. and pitch of 10" in 12". Collar ties should. be 2"x6", 16" Q C. at approx. half the distance between ceiling joist and ridge. 5 . Basement girders 5 `/a" x 11 7/8" Micro Lams and 3 '/2" x 11 7/8" with maximum span of 13ft. are satisfactory, as shown on plans, for supporting the I ". floor, above. The 4" dia. steel posts on 24"x24"xl2" concrete pads are suitable for supporting the girders if pads are reinforced with 3 44 rebars each way. 6. The 8" concrete foundation walls on 16"x8" reinforced concrete footings and the 4" concrete floors are satisfactory- The concrete floors should be reinforced with 6x6- 10- 10 WWF or 1 '/2 lbs. Fibermesh firers per yard of concrete. Wall should be waterproofed on their exterior surfaces below grade. 7. Stair risers should be no higher than 8 '/a" and tread depth a minimum of 9" if risers open and 9" + 1 1/8" nosing if risers closed. 8, insulation is acceptable as noted on plans. 9. All design and construction must comply with Iatest edition of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and The National Electric ,rods and7a applic le l9cal building c,podes and/or regulations. / William E.
