Dave Ha :in Building Inspecter 742 Bay Load Queensbury , NY 12804 Dear Dave : In regards to the tightening of the structual bolts at the new addition at Native Textiles , the turn-of- the- nut method was used . This method of tightening bolts is aaproved by the manufacturer of the building , Butler Buildings Inc . This method is accomplished by tightening each bolt to a " snug " position , usually by hand by a man with a spud wrench . Once the bolts a_e snug they must be tightened more based on the size of the bolts . One .inch bolts must be tightened 1 full turn and 3 / 4 bolts must be tightened 3/ 4 of a turn . This is done by marking the bolt and using an impact gun to achieve the required turn . I hope this clears up any questions you may have had , Sincerely °�-� -- Donald C .
