The reason for the denial on May 281h was that we did not have the revised plot plan on file in this office. On May 28xh, later in the day, a revised plot plan showing dimensions which is attached was submitted to this office and approved by Joel Clugstone the following morning. The tank is approved for use and does meet the current Town Codes with regard to placement and size. The existing leach field is the correct size for a four bedroom house. According to our records, there is 216 feet of leach field installed in the rear of your property adjacent to the tank location. As far as this office is concerned, this entire septic system does meet the Sanitary Sewage Regulations for the Town, and therefore you do have a legal system. There was also a smaller copy of this same plan that I have from when we planned it with Jim Chandler of The Michaels Group (they'd given me a copy). Jim Chandler and Mr. Galusha put our septic and leach field in a different place than specified, yet Dave from your office came out and observed there seemed to be no reason to have moved it. In fact it appears, that by changing it's location the roots to our large oaks would have had to have been cut and the now the trees are dying. There was more than enough land cleared. Also, the septic system was put in an area where a deck and project were to be built, Everyone was aware of this from the start of the planning of our home. Two men from elsewhere were to come to Queensbury to do this project. When I went to the building and codes, my file has a Michaels Group plan for a deck I supposedly already had, but do not. I pointed this out to Dave and the man there Dave and another guy from the Building and Codes Department said they would mark all edges of the septic system and leach field before anyone started digging, but Mr. Galusha showed up early that morning and began digging before Dave got there. While I was doing things for Mr.Galusha, Dave left without marking the edges of the leach field. Mr. Galusha could not remember for sure where exactly it lay and Joel who'd inspected the pipes, septic and looked in the tank before they covered itoon May 28, 1998 said he could not mark the boundaries for us that day and to talk to Dave again. I asked him to send me an official certified copy of the site plan for our septic system as it is now, with all the dimensions and exact locations shown for the leach field lines in relation to our property lines. We measured where Mr. Galusha thought it was and it appears to only have room for 3 columns instead of 4. We have 3 bedrooms and a sitting room that can be used as a bedroom. We closed on 19 Danford Court on October 31 , 1997. 1 just want to be sure we are within the proper codes and regulations. Please send me a copy of this official document not the hand drawn sketch Jim Chandler brought to you on October 27, 1997, His sketch shows nothing in relation to our home boundaries and the distances we need. Joel ,gave me a receipt on May 28, 1998 when he inspected the septic work before they covered it over. I've enclosed a copy of that receipt (identified with Early AM at the top). I received another receipt in the mail on May 29 or 30. The hand drawn sketch sent with the second receipt gives us some of the information but not all. Why did I receive two and why are they different? One receipt says it's not approved, while the other says it is approved. Is my septic system use approved? I've still not received clarification. Please send me the official, certified copy of the site plan for my septic system as it is now indicating your assurance that this system meets all codes. Sincerely, Wilma L.
