On the basis of the site visit observations, several conditions should be addressed to remedy deficiencies in the soil erosion control measures employed at the site. Soil and erosion control measures at construction sites are regulated in the Town of Queensbury under Section 179-65 of the Town Code and are consistent with construction industry standards and practices as outlined in USDA Soil Conservation Service (SCS) "Guidelines For Erosion and Sedimentation Control in Urban Areas of New York State". All exposed soils at the site should be stabilized immediately through the use of either temporary measures (such as geotextile fabric or mulch) or seeded and mulched as.a more permanent means of control. Additionally, on the basis of the site observations, gravel should be placed at the roof drain discharge locations to minimize "gully" type erosion of the surface. Every effort should be made to prevent stormwater from achieving channelized flow off site to adjacent properties. Your efforts in addressing this matter are appreciated.
