series Direct Vent Wail Furnaces can be installed in an alcove. The American Gas
Association Testing Laboratories (now lnternational Approval Services-USA)
established the clearance to combustible construction with the appliance recessed

The minimum vent length is 5 inches, Consequently,you may have to provide a
box-shaped spacer between the side of the building and the vent terminal.
We suggest that the.top of the recessed opening be angled upward to allow for
better convection of heat. While this is not required for wall surface temperature
reasons, it will help in convection.
