Dear John:
After receiving a letter from Patricia Watkins August 23, 2000, I reviewed the matter of the septic
system constructed at 7 Boulevard with our Town attorneys.
They advised me that in order to maintain the system in the present location, you must obtain a
variance from the Town Board. of Health, otherwise this system will be considered illegaL You also
must obtain permission from the +ameba +Geigy Corporation to allow the system to remain in place on
their property.
Based on the design by Wi liam 'Montgornery, there seems to be no other logical location for this
septic system. However, a variance should have been granted prior to installation of the system, and
the current plot plan which you have submitted is not accurate with respect to property lines.
Therefore an upgraded property reap showing the location of the system and location of property
lines must be submitted along with the variance to the Town Board of Health.
I'm asking that this be done within the next 30 days, or as soon as you receive permission from
Cleba Geigy Corporation, otherwise, this system will be considered illegal and would be ordered
removed from the Geba Geigy .property.
If you have any questions, I can be reached at 761-8256, Monday through Friday. Thank you for
your anticipated cooperation.
Sincerely,
David Hatin, Director

Dear Brian Fear ,
Enclosed herein are three " ( 3 ) copies of my Drawina # 9E3- .11 ,
Sheets 4* 1 & #2 . Revised 1 - 8 --99 showing the '" as built "
replacement septic system for the proposed renovated
bar / restaurant at 7 Boule- yard in the Town of Queensbury _ YClUr'
letter of December 21 . ' 98 noted that the plans were approved for•
a gravity system if trench and groundwater separations cor.ild be
maintained . Your letter further advised that if a pump ---uv
system were necessary . plans should be changed to ref iect this+
cl-ranve , be re- approved by your office and system installatior-i he
inspected .
Since the building sewer elevation and the original Qrade= of tilP
absorption field area were such that an acceptahle= separation of
trench bottom and ground water could be maintained . a oravity
system was installed . The new grease trap installation
rarcvt=nte=d the insta 1 lotion of 4 1 ines behind the hu i l dino
therefore . 3 lines were installed here . The property lobe to
the West angled sufficiently to allow then le=ngthenina of the 6
lines in this area so that a total combined trench length of 480
ft . cOjAld still be installed for the entire system .
Because there were at least 4 " of frost in the ground duri. nq the
installation , trench backfil lino and area grading were htarri r#
and less than desireable . Final grading and seeding will haves
to be done in the spring _
John O ' 8rien of the Queenssbury Codes Office made two inspections
during the instal latican and I made one inspection of
the absorption trench installation .
This installation has been completed according to the " as built "
plans and should be acceptable to your office for any permit
pertaining to the septic system and septic system performance .
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the
design and / or installation .
Sincerely yours ,
William E . Montgome y Jr . iP
