Mohigan Grange No. 1300 (and from the Glens Falls Grange #1175 presented to Clerk after the Town Board Meeting) requesting an ordinance to prohibit the parking of automobiles and trucks on highways during the time requiring snow removal by the Town Highway Equipment. I Mr. H. Russell Harris- our intent was that .y= radio announcemenbt ,would be made and cars would not be allowed to park on highways for a certain number of hours to allow for snow removal. . . Mr. Naylor- in favor of the proposal. . . Councilman Olson- this will be referred to the Town CounseZ, Police and Hig7vay Depts. for their recommendations. . . -Ltr. Mohigan Grange No. 1300 (and from the Glens Falls Grange #1175 presented to Clerk after the Town Board Meeting) requesting an ordinance to prohibit the Leaving of snow on'the Town Highways in such a manner as to create a dangerous condition for motorists or make the removal of snow from the highway more time consuming and therefore more expensive. Discussion held in regard to Election Dist. No. 2 at the Mohigan Grange Hall. . . Councilman Eisenhart- noted that due to state Latta we must have access to voting for the handicapped. . .Mr. Harris noted that the Grange Has been a voting area for over fifty years. . .the Grange has a ramp into the basement for handicapped ..Councilman Eisenhart- I have tentative arrangements for the use of Bay Ridge Fire House—noted that it is a hard job to put the heavy voting machines in the basement and then haul them, out�where at the Fire Co. it would be on ground Level. . .Councilman Morrell- Mr. Harris brought out a good point it is tradition, it is not a new neighborhood. . . Councilman Eisenhart- requested Mr. Naylor to look over the situation at the Grange and report back to him. . . - s Councilman Morrell- The recreation master pl6n is 99% done and should be completed for the next Town Board meeting. . . Councilman Eisenhart- I was pleased to represent the Town at the Ciba Geigy-GZens Falls Event. . . last week it was very nice. . . Councilman Olson- Thanked the .Dr. for attending the event for the Town. . . we have passed the dead line for the filing of a petition against the Broad Acres Water Dist. . . .we are now awaiting the approval from the State Comptrollers office. . . Mr. Morrell- now that the dist. has been approved, even though we do not stat+t construction until 1983 if a.".break occurs, are we Legal in going into fix it? Mr. VanDusen- As I understand it right now, if there is a break in the dist.,we will go in a fix it, it will be charged to the district. . . Discussion held in regard to areas for a new stump dump, Councilman Olson we are Looking at two or three different areas. . .the Area on Route 9 is shut down. .. Councilman Olson- I am pleased with the way Paul and his crew was able to correct the drainage problem on Garrison road . . . Councilman Monahan- What is now being dumped at the stump dump site? Councilman Olson- they are cutting the brush along Rt 9, when thed grade the roadlthe dirt . . . will be placed there. LI Councilman Monahan-vW t. there be may asphaZt products. . .voiced concern due to the fact that this is close to Glen Lake. . . Councilman Olson- not that I am aware of. . .we will Zook into this. . .the State and ENCON is on the Location. . . OPEN FORUM 8:22 P.M. Joe Daire- asked why the State was not cleaning up Ridge Road being that it is a State road. . .also noted that he followed a City dump truck that did not have a secured cover on it on Ridge Road. . .noted that the water dept. was doing an excellent job of flushing the hydrants. . .Thanked the Supt. of Highway for sweeping his sheet. . . liked Mr. NayZors suggestion of covering the sand and salt. . .asked that residents start helping themselves instead of calling on government. . . Everett Batchelder-asked when Stephanie Lane would be paved? Asked when the water quality would be improved obi Stephanie Lane. Mr. VanDusen-. we have had problems as we do in dead end areas, even though the ph is high this poses no health hazard—the answer is to tie this line into the next street stem- this is on the construction schedule and will be done this summer. Councilman Olson- the paving List is now being considered, the Town Board will p 9 g be reviewing the schedule with Mr. Naylor very soon, you may call Mr. Naylor for his ideas. . . Everett Batchelder- is there still a Town Pickup? Councilman Olson- no. . .noted that there will be a free week at the landfill and substation from May 1st through May 8th 1982 Mr. Turnbull- spoke to the Town Board on the Activities of the Qsby. Senior Citizens during the month of May 1982. . . asked the Board how they felt about the recent article in the Post Star regarding a proposed new ZandfiZZ in the Town for Ciba Geigy and sludge from the City treatment plant. . . a 97 Councilman-BZson- Reviewed the history of the Finch Pruyn Sludge which is now dumped in Fort Ann with some being used at the Qsby.-G.F. Landfill site as liner material. . .in regard to Ciba Geigy sludge it does have a pit ht the landfill, asked that Mr. Turnbull Zook at the site and its maintenance. . . Ciba Geigy is looking to enlarge this area. . .sZudge from the new sewage treatment plant it has been suggested that it would be burnt in a burner. . .this Town Board went on record when Mike Brandt was Supervisor and agdin since Mrs. Walter has been Supervisor, we notified the State and ENCON that when and if a new sewer plant was built in the City of Glens Falls the Town of Queensbury landfill could not take that sludge. . .we do not have the Jroom for it. . . Councilman Monahan- I believe Art's concern is ghat they will buy private property and do this, I believe under our present zoning and ono the proposed master plan this would not be possible without the Town Board passing a rezoning change. . . Mr. Mike Elmore-Howard St.- A neighbor is harboring livestock on less than ten acres of land, he would like to see the pigs removed. . .requested that the Building ., acid Zoning Dept. investigate this. . . Councilman Olson- I will contact the Building & Zoning Office tomorrow morning welcomed former Councilman Bob Barber to the meeting. . . Mr. Elmore- noted that he would be cleaning up his area soon and wiihed that something could be done to the rest of the area. . . Mr. Turnbull- does the Beautification committee have any teeth. . .
