Y . 12020 Re : Trusses for Lot #$/7 Queen Anne Ct . , Queensbury Dear Jack : I have reviewed the computer print-out entitled Job #87-803 dated 9/28/87 and indicating Job 1D AJ MODEL , SHEET 3 of 3 . I have also reviewed the photos of the effected trusses . ( Copies Attached ) First , the design calls for a 511x5" plate at the ridge joint . A 7 "x8 " plate is supplied . This has the effect of increasing the number of plate teeth in contact with the top chord and web member . Second , from the pictures , it appears that the damage to the plates is only in the area not in contact with the wood members . Unless there is evidence of the plates being separated from the truss members , the damage to the plates as shown in the photos should not diminish their ability to carry the design loads as noted on the computer print-out .
