Councilman Robertson- I believe that Board then wants to table this and have the Highway Committee and the Highway Supt. -�.,,� meet with the developer and outline our concerns before we accept the road. . . RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RETENTION BY WARREN COUNTY TREASURER OF $100,000.00 IN 1982 SALES TAX .REVENUES ALLOCABLF TO THE TQWN OF g11EENSBUR.x RFSnrTITTON NO. 2:5� Introduced by Dr. Eisenhart Seconded by Mr. MorreZZ Dated: November 10, 1981 WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury in accordance with the provisions of Tax Lary Section 1361 has previously duly adopted a resolution to accept sales tax revenues in direct payment rather than as a credit to reduce the annual Warren County taxes levied upon real property in the Town of Queensbury and WHEREAS, it is estimated by the Warren County Treasurer that the Town of Queensbury will receive as its share of sales tax revenues coZZected in 1982, an amount in excess of $1,099, 791. 00 and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the operation of the Town of Queensbury will not necessitate the receipt of the 'totaZ sum of $1,099, 791.00 and WHEREAS, an inordinante increase in the 1982 Warren County Tax levied upon the real property in the Town of Queensbury will result unless a portion of the 1982 sales tax revenues is applied to reduce the 1982 Warren County Taxes levied upon real property in the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, in order to reduce the 1982 county taxes levied upon real property in the Town, it appears that the Town is able to allow the sum of $100,000.00 to be re- tained by Warren County and to be applied to reduce said county taxes, and WHEREAS, such would appear to be in the best interest of the Town of Queensbury and the residents thereof, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Queensbury authorize the Warren County Treasurer to retain the first $100,000.00 aZZocable for payment to the Town of Queensbury that is received by the County of Warren from the State of New York in sales tax revenues coZZected as a result of' saZes during the calendar year 1982 and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County of Warren apply said $100,000.00 as an anticipated revenue in the 1982 Warren County Budget for the purpose of establishing a 1982 Warren County tax rate with respect to county taxes to be levied upon real property in the Town of Queensbury and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor of the Town of Queensbury is authorized to pay to the County of Warren said sum of $100,000.00 in accordance with the payment schedule set forth above, and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk of the Town of Queensbury be directed to forward immediately a certified copy of this resolution to the Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors, the Budget Officer of the Warren County Board of Supervisors and the Clerk of the Warren County Board of Supervisors. Deputy Supervisor Robertson- yes Councilman Eisenhart- why are we turning over $100,000. 00 to the County? Deputy Supervisor Robertson- that is the Budget Officers Recommendation and this board went along with this as a portion of the budget. . . . it is a trade off, you can have your county tax jump and have a lesser town tax or you give part to the Town and part to the County, that was the election that the Town Budget Officer made. Councilman MorreZZ- Does this mean that we are anticipating One Million Dollars in Sales Tax Revenue? Deputy Supervisor Robertson- It is basically higher than that, it could be more, Mrs. Walter was being conservative in this area. . . I Mr. Turmbull- Is there enough- revenue derived by the sale of water to pay the bond debts? Deputy Supervisor Robertson- no, the tax rate onZy appZies in the district, the revenues of the water dept. are divided into two categories, the operating costs and the second part is the Statutory debt. .we have tried very hard to say that the taxes paid for the bonded indebtness and interest and the operating cost were raised on water rent, that has not aZways been the case, infZdtion has caught us, the power costs are going up etc. we have not quite baZanced the budget, the operating dept. is in deficit.
