This letter shall serve as certification that based upon information obtained from inspections and the Contractor all portions of work designed by our office appear to be installed in general conformance with the approved plans and specifications. In additional we have performed a final site visit.to make observation of the site and to confirm measurements of the installed. holding tank system components. The site appears to be adequately stabilized and all planned site work appears to be generally completed to the satisfaction of our office. It is my understanding the Contractor has submitted measured locations of the subsurface pump chamber, holding tank, and sewer pipe network located in the front yard to your office. We confirmed such measurements upon installation, which generally comply with plans and specifications with exception of the added exterior pump chamber. Prior to installation of the pump chamber our office assisted in locating the pump chamber and confirmed it would be acceptable to be installed prior to and adjacent to the holding tank. I expect this letter, in. addition to the field measurements submitted to your office, will satisfy your records as necessary for the CO. Thank you and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or require additional information. Respectfully, Daniel W..,Ryan, P.E. Air Leakage: ❑ Joints, penetrations, and all other such openings in the building envelope that are sources of air leakage are sealed. ❑ Recessed lights are either 1)Type IC rated with enclosures sealed/gasketed against leaks to the ceiling,or 2)Type IC rated and ASTM E283 labeled,or 3)installed inside an air-tight assembly with a 0.5"clearance from combustible materials and a 3"clearance from insulation. Sunrooms: ❑ Sunrooms that are thermally isolated from the building envelope have a maximum fenestration U-factor of 0.50 and the maximum skylight U-factor of 0.75.New windows and doors separating the sunroom from conditioned space meet the building thermal envelope requirements. Vapor Retarder: ❑ Vapor retarder is installed on the warm-in-winter side of all non-vented framed ceilings, walls, and floors;or it has been determined that moisture or its freezing will not damage the materials;or other approved means to avoid condensation are provided. Comments: Materials Identification and Installation: ❑ Materials and equipment are installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. ❑ Insulation is installed in substantial contact with the surface being insulated and in a manner that achieves the rated R-value. ❑ Materials and equipment are identified so that compliance can be determined. ❑ Manufacturer manuals for all installed heating and cooling equipment and service water heating equipment have been provided. ❑ Insulation R-values and glazing U-factors are clearly marked on the building plans or specifications. Duct Insulation: ❑ Ducts in unconditioned spaces or outside the building are insulated to at least R-8. ❑ Ducts in floor trusses above unconditioned spaces or above the outdoors are insulated to at least R-6. Duct Construction: ❑ Air handlers, filter boxes, and duct connections to flanges of air distribution system equipment or sheet metal fittings are sealed and mechanically fastened. ❑ All joints, seams, and connections are made substantially airtight with tapes, gasketing, mastics(adhesives)or other approved closure systems.Tapes and mastics are rated UL 181A or UL 181 B. ❑ Building framing cavities are not used as supply ducts. ❑ Automatic or gravity dampers are installed on all outdoor air intakes and exhausts. ❑ Additional requirements for tape sealing and metal duct crimping are included by an inspection for compliance with the International Mechanical Code. Temperature Controls: ❑ Thermostats exist for each separate HVAC system.A manual or automatic means to partially restrict or shut off the heating and/or cooling input to each zone or floor is provided. Circulating Service Hot Water Systems: ❑ Circulating service hot water pipes are insulated to R-2. ❑ Circulating service hot water systems include an automatic or accessible manual switch to turn off the circulating pump when the system is not in use. Certificate: ❑ A permanent certificate is provided on or in the electrical distribution panel listing the predominant insulation R-values;window U-factors;type and efficiency of space-conditioning and water heating equipment. Attached you will find a copy of revised project drawings related to final site coordination and miscellaneous modifications contemplated by the Owner. Previously a building permit was issued for this project and the site has been partially excavated in preparations for the foundation installation for the single.family dwelling. In laying out the site and the project surveyor providing field verified. grades and building locations and elevations, it was determined that in. order to .safely construct the -house and to .substantially conform to the site. plan approval and code requirements minor changes to the design were necessary. Attached you will find revised plans with modifications designated for your convenience. In essence two changes are proposed; 1. The building location will be slightly, different from the original planned location (although still meets all required building/property line setbacks). This change is being propagated by construction safety, ensuring setbacks are met, the required clear distance to the existing power lines, and actual existing grades being slightly different from the topographic data provided during design. 2. The lower retaining wall'in the original plan would be relocated closer to the building: This would provide for less impact on the site, allow easier and. safer construction, provides substantial cost savings, and allows the retaining wall to be constructed integral with the building foundation (access to the lower level will be very limited and difficult due to steep slopes once-building is constructed)., Because the site is excavated and exposed steep slopes exist we respectfully-request an expedited review of the revised documentation. We also request. that the permit be updated to reflect these changes and include the revised attached plans.
