Queensbury, NY 12804 To Whom It May Concern: This letter is to address the replacement of the Legacy On-site Septic System at the above noted address. Work was performed on 11/22/11 by Stone Installations. RK Engineering was consulted based on concerns of the proposed depth of the new septic treatment chambers, no design performed. Information within this letter is based on photos of the work performed and installer statements. No unearthing of the system was performed and no record drawings required. The dwelling is supplied with municipal water,no wells on site. Work performed consisted of replacing the existing failed on-site treatment laterals with 5- 40' long Gravelless Chambers. The existing septic tank was in acceptable condition and remains in use. The septic tank is approximately 2' deep; therefore, the laterals would be approximately 3.5' deep, given existing topography. The site soils consist of sand with a percolation rate of 1-5min/inch. A deep test pit was performed to a depth of 7.5' with no ground water observed. With these site conditions, the chamber manufacturer has stated that there product performs acceptably with air transfer. RK Engineering recommended that the Chambers be vented at the far end with a charcoal filter. Also, it is recommended that an effluent filter be installed at the outlet of the septic tank.
